Here are a few still shots of Jake at Port Eynon. Here he is before he got too stinky - apart from some sand around his face.
Getting wetter and grubbier by the moment.
Investigating some kind of marine life. A sponge? No idea what it is, animal, vegetable or mineral.
Jake inspected it well, a puzzled look on his face the whole time.
When it refused to play, or communicate in any way, Jake got decidedly bored.
I had him back on his lead by this time, as I had to get back to the bus stop, and I grabbed him when the opportunity presented itself. He has a habit of running away when he knows I want him back on the lead, so I tempted him with some food, and quickly leashed him up. I stopped at the ice cream kiosk at Port Eynon, before heading to get the bus. I can thoroughly recommend the Caribbean coconut flavour - delicious. Soon afterwards, we were on the way to Rhossili.

Camera Critters: Tortoiseshell
I came across this tortoiseshell butterfly sunning itself on a stone near the bus stop at Rhossili, on the Gower Peninsula. Unfortunately, I only had a basic point-and-shoot camera at the time, so was unable to do this beautiful creature justice. You can see my other Camera Critters entry here.

Blog stuff
I've decided to make a few changes on the blog front. I'm forever starting new blogs, and then totally losing interest in them. So, I've deleted a couple, and have also earmarked another couple for deletion. I've also started a new one, thanks to a suggestion made by Chris Elphick. A Picture of Gower will no longer be updated. Instead, I have imported all posts and comments for that blog into the new blog. I will also be importing all Gower-themed posts from this blog, as well as the Swansea History blog. That way, I can keep this blog more a personal thing, and have a separate Gower blog.
The Gower blog won't just be about my own visits. I'll be frank - I hope to generate a little bit of income from it, via Google Ads. But I also want it to be a valuable resource to anyone wanting to visit Gower. In some ways, it'll have a little bit of crossover with Chris's excellent Welcome to Gower, as it'll include some local history, myths and legends, details on Gower attractions and facilities, etc. But it will very much have my own stamp on it.
The design of the new site is very simple and low key - and that's the way I intend to keep it. I now have to do a little work on it, adding links, labels, etc. Hopefully, it'll build some pagerank, as there will be no paid posts, etc, on it, just Google, and possibly a Gower-themed Amazon shop. Anyway, check it out if you have a moment, and see what you think. It's nothing fancy - it's a niche blog, which I hope is easy on the eye, and will be easy to navigate, once I've worked on it a little. Many thanks to Chris for inspiring this project.
