My robber's in jail

I'm pleased to report that the pig who robbed me at knife point a fortnight ago, is now in jail. I couldn't post anything about this when I first found out, due to certain legal restraints, etc. Late on Monday night, a CID officer turned up on my doorstep to inform me that they had a new suspect in custody, and asked me to identify some recovered property. It wasn't mine, but I presume it was linked to another robbery.

Yesterday morning, another CID officer arrived, and asked me if I was available to view a video ID line-up at 13.00. I headed off to the police station, expecting to have another wasted journey. As the ID line-up played on the computer screen, after viewing a few individuals, my stomach gave a sudden lurch. I was almost 100% certain I was looking at the pig who robbed me. I couldn't say anything until the film had played twice. I then asked to see the individual clip showing the robber. After pausing the image and taking a damn good look, I was 101% sure - it was him.

About two hours ago, yet another CID officer called, and informed me that I had picked out their suspect from the line-up. This little scumbag has carried out a few robberies in the area lately. He's been remanded into custody pending his Crown Court trial. Surprise, surprise, the little dear is out on licence, following his last period of incarceration, which was also for robbery. As I've identified him, and the police have recovered property stolen from other people he's robbed, the case against him is solid. Not only will he have to serve time for his current spate of robberies, but he will also have to serve the time remaining on his previous sentence, as he committed further crimes after being released on licence.

For those unfamiliar with the UK criminal justice system, when an individual is released from prison on licence, they are released early from their original sentence. But that release is conditional, and if the offender breaches the terms of the licence, they can immediately be recalled to prison. You can read more about licences here.

Anyway, that vile little junkie's off the streets for the foreseeable future. Many thanks to South Wales Police for their efforts in catching him.

I'm so glad that scum-bag has been caught and will be safely out of the way! It must have been an unpleasant experience for you, just the same, so it's good that this much is over.

Sorry for not visiting in a while. I'm so glad to hear that this scumbag will be off the streets for some time. My head hopes he comes out clean and stays that way.. my gut hopes he drops the soap frequently!
