Swansea Council has hit the national news headlines, possibly even the international news. Why? Well, it all has to do with a bilingual sign placed near the Asda supermarket, in the Morriston area of the city. The English text is fine - it makes perfect sense. But the problem lies with the Welsh text.
When council officials emailed the department that deals with translation services, the non-Welsh speakers mistook the out-of-office response for an actual translation. So the Welsh text on that sign says: "I am not in the office at the moment. Please send any work to be translated". Plonkers!
