Talk about the floodgates opening. I hope Jane Davidson, the Welsh Assembly's Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing, is proud of herself. After she recently granted Llanelli Sand Dredging Ltd permission for the removal of more than a million tonnes of sand from the Helwick Bank over the next seven years, Gower now faces a new dredging threat. In the not too distant future, people will be visiting Gower to marvel at its freaky moonscapes, not its glorious beaches. Thank you Jane Davidson, and all your insightful colleagues at the Welsh Ass government.
