I've decided to get rid of Entrecard. I just killed it on Strange Days, and will be removing it from this blog once Misty's ad has run. I guess it's a good idea for people who have time to constantly drop their cards, but I don't. Fair enough, it did boost my traffic, but how many of those new visitors actually bothered to stick around and read anything? I never saw any comments from any of them, and feel pretty certain that most new traffic from Entrecard was as a result of people visiting for two seconds, to drop their card and get their credit. That constant card-clicking is just too time-consuming, yet if you don't do it every day - you get penalized. Add that to the fact that the site is painfully slow and prone to multiple outages daily - I'm afraid it's just not for me.
I also don't like the fact that you can't delete your account. So I've removed the URL for Strange Days and added a link to a page that tells anyone clicking it that I'm no longer participating in Entrecard. I've also removed my widget. I'll be doing the same here in a couple of days, too. It's just too time-consuming for the small benefits it brings.

Goodbye Entrecard

Well I must admit I've been wondering about it. Yes it's brought a fairly hefty increase in my traffic, which was never very great anyway, but as you say, how much of it stays. I've found two or three sites which I very much like, but I don't think I've had more than two or three comments from anyone passing through.
I've been a member only a week, so I'll give it a little longer, but it's not looking good.
Personally, I'm not enthralled with EntreCard.com. Every time I drop more than a set amount of cards in a set amount of time, they flag me as a cheater or somesuch, and dock me credits. I haven't figured out the exact numbers, but it's a pain since I have limited computer time and tend to have concentrated bursts of carding.
I have also noticed that every day I have to click on more sites just to get them to show up. I literally dropped 20 or so cards today before the system even recorded my first one. Right now I'm getting 3:1 clicks to records. I don't know if that's a bug on their point, or if it's intentional.
If it didn't bring me any traffic, I'd probably dump it in a heartbeat, so I can totally understand where you're coming from.
I totally agree. I'm just going to let my current ads run and I'm out as well. I read on some blogging info site (don't remember which one) that it's better to just Google some blogs, leave comments on them and get readership that way vs. using these community type sites.
I'll visit your blog no matter what you do - that's plain and simple :-) That was really nice of you to wait so my advertisement would run (and you know for what else). I wanted to come over here and give you a sincere thank you (for everything)! You are a very thoughtful friend with a fabulous blog - what more could ya want? hehe
I totally understand what you mean, not that I know what that particular thing is. But I got involved in ABC Wednesday, Skywatch Friday, and Saturday Photo Hunt. I'm not going to do the skywatch one anymore cuz it seems always the same thing. Not too much originality there. But I'll continue with Wed. and Sat. ones cuz they're always different! But I'll keep coming by here, even though you're doing SF.
