B is for ... Boathouse. But not just any old boathouse. This is the Dylan Thomas Boathouse at Laugharne, Carmarthenshire.
The poet and his family took up residence at the Boathouse, which overlooks the Taf Estuary in West Wales, after Margaret Taylor, wife of renowned British historian, AJP Taylor, purchased it for them in 1949, at a price of £3,000. It is now owned and operated by Carmarthenshire County Council as a tourist attraction, and as a venue for various literary events. Keeping up with the 'B' theme for this week, the tea room at the Boathouse serves up a mighty fine slice of Bara Brith (pronounced Barra Breeth), a traditional Welsh fruit cake/tea bread.

Charming boathouse and a beautiful place! :)
Sound s nice - especially with the cake. Maybe we could also be joined by Bob Dylan?
What a great view ..
great shot and the history is especially enjoyed
Nice shot.
What a beautiful scene. Lots of boats today but this is the first boathouse I've seen.
Nice to see this again Siani!
Oh my! Another wonderful place to put on my list to visit when I come to Wales! I love Bara Brith, too, as my Nana Jones always used to serve it. She was born in Llandudno in the north.
Nice series of photos and story. Living there would be an inspiration.
it would be great to just sit with your feet up looking out all day from this fabulous location
What a charming place:D I look forward to summer:)
What a lovely scene.
So peaceful.

PS I have posted my very first ABC photo
!
I love Dylan Thomas. I haven't read him in years. I must go to the library and find a book with some of his writing since you have reminded me of him.
Very nice B post and I am sorry I did not find your ABC earlier in the week. I thought Ihad visited everyone and have come back to doublecheck.
