Manic Monday

Yes, it's Monday again, which means it's time for Manic Monday, which is hosted by Lisa. Here are this week's questions, along with my answers.

1. What family traditions or customs would you most like to see preserved?

The traditional Sunday roast. So few families seem to sit down together to eat a proper cooked meal these days.

2. What do you feel is the least sexy part of the body?

I guess I'd best keep this clean, hadn't I? So I'll say ears or feet. Knees are pretty drab, too. Essential, but not very pretty.

3. What keeps you awake at night? Why?

The fear of being abducted by aliens. Just kidding! A number of things keep me awake at night. Pain from arthritis in my neck and upper spine is a major culprit. The cats disturb me a lot as well, Leo in particular. He can be very restless, howling to be let in and out through the bedroom window multiple times every night. I also live in a neighbourhood that has a lot of student houses, inhabited by rowdy, inconsiderate little twerps, who make hideous amounts of noise. To make matters worse, there's a rather dodgy neighbourhood nearby, so the police helicopter tends to fly over a lot during the night. We often get people from that neighbourhood joyriding around here, with the cops on their tails, so we get the helicopter and sirens on those occasions. I'm also disturbed once or twice a month by joyriders setting fire to cars in a nearby lane, so there's all the noise of exploding cars and fire engines with their sirens blaring, as well as cop cars and the helicopter.

Sunday dinner was a big deal in my home growing up and I try to maintain that tradition as much as possible now.

Ugh, feet!

It's so hard to get a good night's rest with so much commotion going on sometimes.

Thanks for playing and have a great week.

Woah, sounds like you need a new place to live with all that going on.
Tell ya what, I'll go halves with you on a private island and we won't have to worry about all that ruckus going on.

Have a good Monday.

I completely agree that not nearly enough people sit down for Sunday dinner any longer...it's just sad, really! Thanks for sharing your Manic Monday!

I couldn't bear that noise! I'm already ranting about the occasional ambulance siren which I still haven't gotten used to after over a year...

I'm definitely with you on the Sunday Dinner thing. A lot of people don't even bother sitting round a table at meal times any more, they just eat in on their laps perched in front of the TV.
