Cat woes

Poor Leo's still not right. And the PDSA won't see him until Thursday morning. I'm not impressed. Although I appreciate the care they've given my cats in recent years, they don't seem to be getting the message that he needs help, and soon.

It's really weird. He's eating well, and he's walking okay. In fact, 99% of the time, he seems his usual self. But whenever he has to make any kind of twisting motion with his hind quarters, he ends up yowling in pain and flopping down to recover.

He seems to recover pretty quickly after each episode, but it's ever so distressing to witness. I just hope it's nothing serious.

The fact that he's eating normally is promising. Plus he can run, jump and do practically everything else in comfort - except twist around. He went into the bathroom earlier and ran behind the loo. As soon as he twisted himself around to snake past the back of the loo, he started yowling. The PDSA gave me some anti-inflammatory painkillers for him yesterday, but they don't seem to be helping. I just wish I could afford private vet care for him. He'd have had his x-rays by now, and any necessary treatment.

Oh well, he's asleep and comfortable at the moment. I hope he stays that way for a few hours. I'm sure his refusal to rest isn't helping his condition.

I hope it is something like a strain. that will heal in time (if he rests!). When the not wife got Oscar (our own blue meanie!) back in the 80s he had a cracked hip and a funnel collar (he'd ben run over but not seriously hurt). Neither stopped him from climbing everywhere and showing the family Doberman who was boss!
