They say it is like feline ultrasound or ... well I cannot remember the name of the therapy but it heals you with vibrational noises... like a cat purring... bc cats purr not only when happy but distressed also... it is supposed to heal the cat

just thought I'd tell you that

but I bet you heard it before anyway!!Gledwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09308172310486574510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443674.post-10293395383881389782007-09-24T18:24:00.000+01:002007-09-24T18:24:00.000+01:00On a recent radio podcast I listened to (I'm strug...On a recent radio podcast I listened to (I'm struggling to remember which one, unfortunately) they had an interview with a soundscape artist - someone who had hired a church because of the acoustics and had set up sounds in there that transported you to a rain forest (for example).

It was fascinating stuff, particularly as he pointed out that, unlike with a camera, there are no telephoto lens equivalents for sound - if you want to hear sounds further away, you have to MOVE the microphone closer and he is considered one of the sound experts at getting very very close to some very difficult subjects.

Anyway, the point I'm getting to is that one of the example sounds that he's captured was of a leopard purring. Imagine your purring cat, but magnify it to a much richer, deeper sound - you can *hear* how big that animal's ribcage is, I swear. It is the most GORGEOUS sound and your soothing sound comment reminded me of it instantly :)Pewari Naanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17922153925590328973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443674.post-85636159703987547812007-09-24T16:14:00.000+01:002007-09-24T16:14:00.000+01:00I may have AS, too.Favourite sounds for me include...I may have AS, too.
Favourite sounds for me include the rustle of trees in the wind - so I`m off out for a walk now along Swansea beach on this windy day. I love these days of autumn gales and wild skies.
I suppose in theory a cat`s purring is soothing. However, I used to feed a neighbour`s cat which had the loudest `purr` in catdom. `Daniel` used to wake me up with his `gentle purring`, so I had to stop allowing him in at night. Which was a pity, because I`m quite fond of stroking a nice pussy at night.
Jeremy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443674.post-40544846719535670482007-09-24T15:41:00.000+01:002007-09-24T15:41:00.000+01:00I never thought of a cat's purr as being soothing....I never thought of a cat's purr as being soothing.
